Tell us a bit about your game and what was it that inspired you to make this game?
The basic conception was to develop a rhythm game. As far as we saw there were no such game on the market and there was a need for it.
Since the predecessor Give it Up! was well received, especially in China, we decided to develop a sequel.
I read thousands of reviews about Give it Up! and I collected what the players liked in it what not, what they would like to see in the game so that the new version shall be closer to the needs of the existing fan base.
Naming a game is almost always one of the most difficult tasks since that’s what people identify it with. Was this name the first choice for the name? If not then what were some other options you were looking at?
The artwork of this game is simply gorgeous. What sort of thought process went behind that?
We wanted to create a lovable character, who is nice, playful and kind, who is not easy to forget. This is how Blob was born.
What was the major challenge in developing this game?
Another challenge was to synchronize the rhythm music to the visuals. It may sound trivial but actually it wasn’t.
Any in-game secrets that could be easter eggs for players to discover?
Some levels have hidden paths.
Blob can fall some places and he won’t die, because there is another path. Also, there are places where he can jump to a higher path.
Will there be any addition or exciting new updates for the game in the near future?
How much time did it take to get this game developed and what can players expect in updates for this game?
What are your future plans as a game developer?
How long have you been developing games and what is the most enjoyable aspect of game development according to you?
This is my 7th year as a developer. I enjoy everything.
My work is my hobby.
How many people worked on the development of this game and any interesting dev stories?
There were 3 main developers. But all together there was a team of 10 people who worked on it. (Bugfix, testing, tuning)
We wanted to create a back story for Blob. He is a lucky result of a spoiled experiment. We were thinking about a professor who is working in that lab. Who is the creator of Blob. We couldn’t find the proper character so we dropped the idea. But maybe the players will meet him in the future.
